- Said after a statement to mark it as final, no argument allowed.
- Used to add sass or emphasis to confident agreement.

Where it came from
Grew out of Black and ball-community slang, where AAVE’s tendency to sharpen a final “d” into a “t” sound turned “period” into “periodt.” Early online use appeared on Twitter as far back as 2009, and it broke into the mainstream through Black Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok around 2018.
