yeet

Meaning

  1. To throw something with force and enthusiasm.
  2. (interjection) Said while making that throw, or as a general exclamation of excitement.

“He yeeted the empty can straight into the recycling bin.”

Where it came from

The word appeared on Vine in 2014, most notably in a clip of a teenager dancing and yelling “yeet” while tossing a soda can. It spread from there into slang for throwing something hard, and later into a general exclamation.
